On day 9 Tom's electrician Gavin came by to do the electrical work on the boiler. As you can see from the photos, he did a nice tidy job.
Wince helped me get started on The Wall. Designed to be tough to keep wildlings out. A lot of measuring, cutting, measuring, levelling, measuring and hammering later, we had something resembling a frame up. Given that no walls in the old house are straight or level, and that the room has a sloping ceiling, this turned out to be a challenging job. This will likely be the most straight and level wall in the house now. Unfortunately we found out that The Wall needed to be very tall to keep out giants. 2.4m studs don't work very well for 2.53m gaps. I need to figure out how to get some small trees ASAP. Travis Perkins? Today's favourite tools were the plumb bob and the circular saw. Thank you Wince for all the help - I couldn't have done it without you.
Rene, Joan, Care and the kiddies all came by to bring treats and take photos (and secretly inspect the work)
