Day 10: Odds and sods

NOT VERY INTERESTING ALERT

Day 10 was all about Tom finishing off loose ends and me prepping for the rest of the week.

Tom and I fitted the new PVC soil pipe. This involved much more banging and cutting than you make expect. End result is that we have the pipe exactly where we need it and have a large hole in the wall that needs patched. Tom also removed the old gas heater and plugged the pipe. He closed off the hole in the wall from the old boiler vent using a silicone brick and some ready mix cement. These bricks are a marvel of modern science and can be cut using a wood saw. I'll be using a few more of these I'm sure.

I spent a good part of the day trying to order building supplies. I use the word "Trying" as Wickes decided that the didn't want to take my money. Because the delivery address didn't match the card address, the order didn't go through. I called their helpline and got a much less helpful "computer says no" response. Today I need to go in store, about an hour out of my way to plead for them to take my money. They're a bunch of tools.

I also managed to get 3m wall studs from Travis Perkins to finish off The Wall. Tomorrow's job.
