Day 1909: Joists to the world, the wood has come!

When I looked out my window this morning, I pretty much saw the following.

And a couple of them ran in when I opened the door.

So, not a big surprise when Stacy messaged us this morning and said the guys won't be working on the roof today. I can't blame them.

So not a lot got done today to report on. They did manage to get a couple of trees worth of floor joists delivered during the 10 minutes when the rain decided to let up. That's a lot of wood. The idea is that these joists run parallel to the existing ceiling joists sitting slightly above them to not disturb our ceilings but are a bit thicker to support the new floors.

The rain is expected to let up Friday and Monday so the guys plan on finishing removing the roof and then unleashing a small army of carpenters on the house Monday to build the dormers. Apparently these things can go up super quick. Stay tuned.
